Born in Namyang, Honed at Nürburgring

Power up the All-New i30 N and it hits you. The sound. The guttural throb of up to 275 PS is pure joy.
Pure performance. Pure N. N stands for Namyang, home of our global R&D centre. Born in Namyang,
honed at the Nürburgring – the N logo symbolises a racetrack’s chicane curve, the ultimate corner
where the i30 N has been pushed to the edge and proven its ability. In May 2017, two
close-to-production i30 N vehicles competed at the ADAC Zurich 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. Both
cars drove the race with the same powertrain and transmission set-up that will be available to the
public in the production i30 N.

The i30 N marks a new era for us, introducing the first high performance model under the N sub-brand, built
to deliver exhilarating driving pleasure for everyone. Born on the track – the All-New i30 N brings our
extensive motorsport experience and high-performance road car development together into one very hot
hatch. Created for maximum driving enjoyment on the road – and racecar feeling in everyday life.

The blistering performance of the All-New i30 N is powered by a 2.0 L turbo charged engine
providing 250 or 275 PS and an impressive range of standard features.

There are five drive modes that can be chosen individually depending on your mood and
situation: Normal, Eco, Sport, N and Custom.

They change the individual character of the car – adjusting the performance parameters of the engine, the dampers, ECS, E-LSD, sound and steering. The Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) lets you select the stiffness of the suspension at the push of a button – offering everything from comfort-oriented daily commuting to race-track performance: the N mode. Note: during extreme driving on road or track surfaces, brake noise and vibration may occur. This has however, no effect on performance and reliability of the brake system.
Launch Control is another distinctive standard feature – it reduces torque steer when you start from a standstill, giving you the fastest possible launch. The Rev Matching feature is also standard, automatically increasing the revs on the engine when shifting from higher to lower gear for smoother and sportier downshifts. The High Performance Driving Data function lets you display driving data on the large multi-function centre display so you can see exactly what you’ve been doing.
Optional features include an Electronic Limited Slip Differential (E-LSD), which allows driven wheels to turn at different speeds by applying different amounts of torque to them, ensuring best cornering performance at all times. The Active Variable Exhaust System delivers different levels of exhaust sound – from fairly refined in Normal mode, to more engaged in Sport mode, to decidedly powerful, with added fuel detonations, in N mode.

The lowered body of the car and its direct suspension are part of the design that creates aerodynamics with
reduced lift and enhanced balance on the road.
The aggressive front and rear bumpers with larger air intakes are key design elements, as is the
aerodynamic rear spoiler with triangle brake light and the dual muffler exhaust. 18 and 19” wheels and
exclusive sport seats round out the sporty, aggressive appearance.

The i30 N underwent extensive testing by our High Performance Vehicle Development & Testing team
at the Nürburgring as well as professional rally drivers from the Hyundai Motorsport World Rally
Championship team. The Nürburgring continues to be used to hone N’s high performance

World Rally Championship driver of
Hyundai Motorsport

So many people have been looking forward to this car, so it’s a pleasure for me to be testing it. The engineers have done a great job on the gearbox and the differential. There is good traction and good stability in the slippery testing conditions. And it’s very easy to handle. A normal driver should get a sensation similar to that of a racing car.

The main target for us is to ensure driving enjoyment. Symbolising a chicane, the ‘N’ logo embodies this aspect – an agile vehicle that is fun to drive.

Now this is driving! Check out the i30 N putting all of it its performance potential to breathtaking
use on the track.
