We are gearing up for overseas markets by developing vehicles that conform to international environmental and safety standards. - Proprietary commercial diesel engine Hyundai·Kia Motors secured key commercial vehicle technologies by succeeding in developing its very first proprietary commercial diesel engines in the small, mid and large-size ranges. This feat came after 39 months of R&D and a total investment of US$600 million, which included US$400 million in product development costs and US$200 million for plant construction. The F (4 liter), G (6 liter) and H (10 liter) engines dramatically raised fuel economy, driving power and endurance to raise customers’ profitability while providing a quiet ride with passenger car-like quality. Additionally, improved exhaust cleaning technology means that our commercial diesel engines satisfy not only Korean exhaust regulations but also Euro 4 regulations. | ![]() |

- Full line-up of diesel engines
The newly developed F (4 liter), G (6 liter) and H (10 liter) engines as well as the upgraded Powertech (12.3 liter) engine complete our line-up of proprietary diesel powerplants that range from passenger diesel engines to all sizes of commercial engines. We have now readied the foundation to go forward to become a leading name in commercial vehicles. Hyundai·Kia Motors aims to mark the development of new engines by bolstering its marketing activities in domestic and overseas markets, and move closer to our goal of producing and selling 100,000 commercial vehicles by 2012.
