The Accent, the remarkable diesel car from Hyundai, is back—and it’s now in fine hatchback form. The new Hyundai subcompact embodies the head-turning “fluidic” sleekness of the present Accent, but with the sportier edge of its new hatchback build. It sports 16-inch Alloy Wheels, a Rear Spoiler with a High Mount Stop Lamp, and is one of the largest in its class in interior space. And with the Accent hatchback’s 1.6-liter CRDi VGT diesel engine at your command, you’re confident to go further, as fuel is put to optimum use throughout the RPM range.
The Accent CRDi VGT hatchback is the only hatchback in its class powered by a diesel-fed engine. Its new 1.6-liter CRDi engine delivers maximum torque output of 26.5 kg-m at 1900-2750 rpm for excellent pulling power. It also delivers remarkable power output of 128 ps at 4000 rpm—the best engine power in its class, made possible by the VGT, or Variable Geometry Turbocharger, which equips the engine with variable vanes that allow for optimum air flow to the engine that leads to optimized combustion, giving the car the best possible boost of power at any RPM range.
When it comes to fuel economy, the Accent hatchback is likewise tops with its 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engine optimally mated to 6-speed Manual Transmission ready with an additional gear to give you extra leverage in shifting power, especially helpful when your road trip demands a long drive.
There’s also a 4-speed Automatic Transmission available, providing smooth gearshifts that result in precise engine responsiveness that helps lessen engine load, resulting in better fuel economy.
