The basic gasoline engine for the i40 is the new and highly fuel efficient Nu 2.0 with Multi-Point Fuel Injection. Featuring all-aluminum ladder frame construction for improved durability and reduced noise and vibration, it features Continuously Variable Valve Timing for both the intake and exhaust valves. With Dual CVVT, maximum output is boosted to 177ps/6,500rpm while peak torque measures 21.7kg·m/4,700rpm while minimising emissions. A diesel option is also available in the form of the new U2 1.7ℓ CRDi which delivers 136ps in the high output edition.
