Episode 1 and 2: Exploring EV benefits and addressing concerns

Our very first IONIQ Talks episode is filmed amidst the stunning landscapes of Norway with charismatic British influencer Jonny Smith, who takes the wheel to dissect the enigmatic "Distance to Empty" or DTE – a crucial element for any electric vehicle owner. With over 600,000 subscribers, Jonny Smith is renowned for hosting YouTube's The Late Brake Show, one of the most entertaining motoring video programs out there.

To add an extra spark to the episode, Jonny showcases his expertise piloting two identical IONIQ 6s while highlighting how different driving routes, styles, and even weather conditions can drastically influence our EV’s range – all with his trademark blend of wit and mastery.

As we shift gear into episode two, we're still in the stunning landscapes of Norway, where the IONIQ 5 and 6 shine in wintry conditions. This episode looks at the ways in which our IONIQ cars cope with the cold using things like heat pumps and battery conditioning.

To shake things up, cold weather endurance runner and influencer Göran Winblad joins automotive influencer Paul Wallace to showcase how the IONIQ 5 and 6 are your ultimate allies in conquering even the most extreme weather conditions. Göran embarks on an epic long-distance mountain run, after learning the IONIQ’s cold weather capability from auto expert Paul.

And, what happens when the weather decides to throw in some horrendous challenges during the shoot? Well, as they say - it's these unexpected twists that give this episode that extra dose of spice and authenticity.

Episode 6 is where we really have the most fun. In this joyride of an episode, we hand the wheel to none other than the remarkable Jamie Chadwick, three-time champion of the exhilarating female open-wheeler W Series.

Jamie unleashes her driving prowess on the stunning, winding roads of Norway, and shows Natalie Pinkham – the Sky Sports F1 presenter and an influencer – what fun can be had driving the IONIQ 5 and 6 together with the cars' instant electric torque, lightning-fast acceleration, and a nimble low center of gravity.

Even Jamie who is accustomed to testing the world's fastest cars as a Williams Formula One development driver – was genuinely impressed! They drive together, set up IONIQ's personalization mode, experience the activated EV sound, and continue to enjoy their drive. By the end of the film, it's no surprise that both Jamie and Natalie are eager to have another go.
