Enjoy more efficiency with more power. The SANTA FE features a completely new engine line-up with the new “R” diesel with lower CO2 emissions, and is the first Hyundai in Europe to go on sale with the new ‘Smartstream’ hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain. The diesel engine is paired with a new 8-speed wet double-clutch transmission (8DCT) available for enhanced acceleration and improved fuel efficiency.

The new 8-speed wet double-clutch transmission (8DCT), available with the diesel engine, offers the smooth shifting of a conventional automatic while enhancing efficiency over dry dual clutch transmissions.

    1.6 T-GDi turbo hybrid.

    Delivering a combined output of 230 PS, the hybrid version of the SANTA FE is powered by a dynamic tandem of the new 1.6-litre T-GDi ‘SmartStream’ turbocharged petrol direct injection engine and a 44.2 kW electric motor, which draws its power from a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. It is available with two-wheel or four-wheel drive.

    1.6 T-GDi plug-in hybrid.

    The plug-in hybrid version, available in early 2021, is powered by the new 1.6-litre T-GDi ‘SmartStream’ turbocharged petrol direct injection engine paired with a 66.9 kW electric motor, which draws its power from a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. This variant will be available with four-wheel drive. The total power output is 265 PS.

    2.2 SmartStream Diesel.

    The four-cylinder ‘SmartStream’ diesel engine produces 194 PS and 440 Nm torque and is available with two or four-wheel drive. The new engine block consists of aluminum instead of steel, for a weight reduction of 19.5 kg. Many other components have been improved as well, leading to better fuel efficiency. Furthermore, it has been equipped with a new 2,200 bar injection system for improved overall engine performance.

Drive and terrain mode selector.

Snow or sand? Sport or Eco? You choose. You can easily switch drive modes to suit conditions – and your mood! Select Sport mode for enhanced performance with modified throttle response, shift points and steering effort. Eco mode delivers peak fuel efficiency with modified acceleration, shift points and air conditioning performance. Select Comfort mode for regular performance with good efficiency.

    Highway Drive Assist (HDA).

    For the first time, the SANTA FE has been equipped with Highway Driving Assist (HDA). The feature is a combination of Lane Following Assist and Smart Cruise Control, utilizing sensors and map data to ensure safe operation as well as to automatically adjust speed in limited environments. A special button on the steering wheel allows the driver to activate HDA with just one click.

    Remote Smart Park Assist (RSPA).

    The SANTA FE can remotely park or retrieve itself from a parking space. The system can even back into a parking spot by itself at the touch of a button.

    Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-R).

    This new feature uses rear and side radars to detect obstacles when reversing, issuing a warning and applying the brakes, if necessary, to avoid a collision.
