Speakers embedded in the wide, wing-type headrests are connected to the Rear Seat Entertainment system.
The touch-sensitive surfaces are used to navigate the Rear Seat Entertainment system, the air purifier, as well as the cooled/heated cup holder.

to the rear view monitor and active noise-cancelling function
A high-sensitivity microphone allows the driver to talk with the backseat passengers while driving without having to raise his or her voice. If the backseat passengers are sleeping, the backseat speaker can be muted and only the first-row speaker is turned on, allowing the driver to listen to music without disturbing anyone.

The two USB ports on the back of the front-row seats and sides of the third-row seats allow the second- and third-row passengers to charge their mobile devices.
The Palisade features independent heating and cooling systems for the second-row seats, dual fully automatic air conditioning system for the front seats, and another full air conditioning system that can be controlled independently from the third-row seats.
The windshield-type heads-up display, which is projected onto the windshield, provides information on diverse vehicle types and the current driving conditions through videos shown on the highly visible 9.7-inch instrument cluster display.
Four high-definition cameras show blind spots on the front, back, and side, so drivers can park safely.
If the driver stands near the rear of the vehicle for three seconds with the smart key in his or her possession, the tailgate will open automatically, requiring no other action and enabling the driver to remove items from the vehicle easily and conveniently.
* The driver can adjust the maximum height to which the tailgate opens by setting the tailgate to the desired height and pressing and holding the “Close” button for an extended period of time.
This function performs real-time analysis of the sound made by the vehicle’s internal engine, based on which it produces sound waves that are 180-degrees out of phase with the sound of the engine to cancel out those sounds and create a quieter environment inside the vehicle.

The first application of Hyundai Motor’s new HTRACIncludes Multi Terrain Control. This ensures a stable and enjoyable driving experience not only on the road but in virtually any type of terrain.
Electronic All-Wheel Drive system (HTRAC)

The Palisade is equipped with four drive modes (Comfort, Eco, Sport, Smart) and three multi terrain modes that control the vehicle’s system according to the terrain. The driver can choose from diverse drive modes based on personal preferences or road conditions. The status of each drive mode can be verified via cluster or AVN.
By actively distributing front or rear driving power in response to the constantly-changing environment, the HTRAC function offers the true joy of driving.
The Palisade’s R2.2 diesel engine and Atkinson-cycle 3.8L gasoline engine ensure a quiet ride, powerful driving performance, and excellent fuel efficiency.
PALISADE is also equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Motor-Driven Power Steering (R-MDPS)
as well as the first application of Hyundai Motor’s new HTRAC, which includes Multi Terrain Control.

Safety
Advanced safety
Hyundai put a big emphasis on safety when developing the PALISADE.
It’s equipped with nine airbags and a cutting-edge driver support technology called Active Safety System.
The Palisade offers nine airbags, including curtain airbags that protect passengers in all seats, airbags for the driver’s and front passenger seats, side airbags between the front- and second-row seats, and a knee airbag for the driver.
Engaging the turn signal in either direction shows the driver video footage of what’s next to and behind the car in the instrument cluster.
After ascertaining whether there is a passenger in the rear seat of the vehicle, based on whether the rear door was opened and internal sensors, this system issues a warning message on the instrument cluster display and a warning sound after the driver has stopped the vehicle, turned off the ignition, and opened the driver’s-side door, prompting the driver to check the passenger seat
