Small Car Future Shown at Tokyo Motor Show in Hyundai`s TB Concept

2001.10.24 No. 98
Hyundai Motor Company`s close-to-reality TB Concept Car, unveiled today at the Tokyo Motor Show points the way to a dramatic return to small car values.
Embodying the need for economy and energy conservation the TB Concept Car takes compact and lightweight design to new frontiers without sacrificing quality.
Less than four metres in length, 1.6 metres tall and less than 1.5 metres wide the TB Concept Car can still carry a family of five comfortably and safely. It returns to the spirit of the original small cars by providing a pleasant environment for family mobility in an ultra-compact package.

Urban drive-train package
Presented with a four cylinder 1.3 litre engine mated to an electronically controlled four speed automatic transmission the TB Concept Car presents a flexible and dynamic urban-focused drive-train package.
The styling of the concept is close to the final shape of Hyundai Motor Company`s new small car model that will receive its world debut next year and that formed the basis of the Clix concept shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The new super-mini, that will also feature an all-new one litre engine in final production, will form a central part of Hyundai Motor Company`s global product development strategy.
