Hyundai Motor CIS Celebrates Its Victory in Three Categories of the Russian ‘Car of the Year 2014’
- Solaris and ix35 awarded on the 'Small Cars' segment and 'Compact SUVs' segment respectively
- Hyundai Motor CIS recognized as 'The Most Beloved Brand’ by customers
April 30, 2014 - Hyundai Motor CIS was awarded the prestigious Russian ‘Car of the Year 2014’ in three categories - two in products and one in brand - ‘Small Cars’ segment, ‘Compact SUVs’ segment and ‘The Most Beloved Brand’ among mainstream car makers.
For the past 14 years, the Russian ‘Car of the Year’ has been annually awarded to the most beloved cars. This year, more than a million customers participated in the voting for the ‘Car of the Year’ to select best cars among 403 models.
With this year’s award, Hyundai Solaris has been named ‘Car of the Year’ for three consecutive years in Russia. Solaris sold more than 110,000 units of vehicles last year. Thanks to its modern design, high level of comfort, excellent driving performance and localized features for Russia, Solaris managed to reaffirm its title of the most beloved car.
The title won by Hyundai ix35 is a distinct evidence of its success in Russia. Introduced in October 2013 in Russia, ix35 has received numerous technological improvements by still saving its sporty character and great power. This has been actually the second time that ix35 has won ‘Car of the Year’ in Russia in the ‘Compact SUVs’ segment after the model received its first award in 2011.
The award of ‘The Most Beloved Brand’ is an especially important achievement for Hyundai Motor CIS. "We have always been aiming to become the most beloved car brand in Russia. For us, it is a great achievement and confirmation that customers approve of our mission to meet new challenges" said Yong-Key Koo, General Director of Hyundai Motor CIS.
