Hyundai Motor Company Takes Part in the ICC World T20 Bangladesh 2014 as an Official Partner
March 14, 2014 - Hyundai Motor Company, the world’s fastest-growing automaker by brand, participates in the “ICC World T20 Bangladesh 2014” as part of its on-going official partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC), the global governing body of the sport.
Hyundai supplied a total of 90 vehicles to be used by the teams and tournament officials for the ICC World T20 Bangladesh 2014 scheduled to take place in the cities of Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet between the 16th of March and 6th of April 2014. The tournament will see the world’s best cricketers representing top 16 men’s and 10 women’s national teams from across the globe in a bid to be crowned world champions.
A ceremony marking the occasion was held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka and was attended by representatives of ICC, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Hyundai Motors Bangladesh Ltd. (HMBL). Campbell Jamieson, General Manager - Commercial, ICC; Mahbubul Anam - Director, BCB; Shareq Fahim Haque - Managing Director, HMBL; Ehsan K. Shoaib - Managing Director, Sales and Marketing, HMBL and Imran Khan - General Manager, Marketing, HMBL. Hyundai in collaboration with its local distributor, HMBL, shall hold various marketing activities during the tournament.
The ICC based in Dubai, is the global governing body for international cricket. It encompasses men’s, women’s and youth participation and competition. It has 106 member countries across five continents.
Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) signed a five-year deal with the ICC in 2011 to become an Official Partner. The agreement covers the ICC World Twenty20, ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Cricket World Cup and is part of Hyundai’s effort to expand its global sports marketing activities and build brand awareness worldwide. Hyundai is also the Official Automotive Partner for the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup BrazilTM, and is involved in a variety of other sports, including golf and ski jumping. As of January 2014, the brand also began its first ever challenge in the prestigious World Rally Championship.
