HYUNDAI SHOWS GREATEST IMPROVEMENT IN J.D. POWER AND ASSOCIATES
2010 U.S. SALES SATISFACTION INDEX STUDY

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 29, 2010 Hyundai significantly improved its position in the rankings of the 2010 J.D. Power and Associates U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index StudySM (SSI), ranking No. 7 overall. Hyundai also had the greatest improvement of all mass market brands from 2009, moving from No. 16 to seven in 2010.

The SSI study is a comprehensive analysis of the new-vehicle purchase experience. Overall customer satisfaction is measured across four factors: working out the deal, salesperson, delivery process, and dealership facility. This year’s study concluded that the manner in which customers are treated by the dealership is more important to overall new-vehicle buyer satisfaction than the actual transaction price.

The SSI results continue Hyundai’s momentum. Earlier this year Hyundai ranked seventh among all nameplates in the 2010 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality StudySM (IQS). Hyundai also ranked No. 11 among nameplates in the 2010 J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS), four rank positions above industry average and up three rank positions over 2009.

“Hyundai is proud to be delivering value and sales satisfaction across our entire vehicle line-up,” said Dave Zuchowski, vice president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. “J.D. Power’s Sales Satisfaction Index is an important indicator that we’ve hit the mark when it comes to pleasing our buyers – a very encouraging sign as we bring new models like the all-new Sonata and our luxury flagship Equus to market this year.”
