February 17, 2016 – Hyundai Motor’s Tucson was awarded MotorWeek’s Drivers’ Choice Award for ‘Best Small Utility’ at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. MotorWeek, television’s longest-running automotive series, has presented the Drivers’ Choice Awards annually since 1983.
 
“Hyundai Motor’s Tucson is fresher and better equipped than any direct compact crossover rival. It is also a bargain for its class,” said John Davis, creator, host and executive producer of  MotorWeek. “All are starring qualities that should impress the masses, keeping Hyundai Motor’s marquee shining bright.”
 
MotorWeek evaluated vehicles based on what consumers value the most: price, practicality, performance and fuel efficiency. MotorWeek’s editorial staff then selected the best models in a variety of lifestyle categories.
 
“This accolade from MotorWeek distinguishes Tucson from a crowded CUV segment for its advanced safety and technology features, along with high value proposition,” said Brandon Ramirez, Senior Group Manager of Product Planning at Hyundai Motor America. “Hyundai Motor is committed to engineering its CUVs to be affordable while delivering performance and fuel efficiency.”
 
Tucson comes equipped with advanced safety features, including Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Backup Warning Sensors and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). The vehicle also earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS’s) 2016 TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation.
