Autonomous Parking

This system integrates valet parking services with autonomous driving.
The automobile lets the passengers off at their desired destination and automatically goes to a parking lot, finds an empty space and parks, or drives to an appointed location on its own.

Hyundai is developing an autonomous parking system for the age when autonomous cars with level 4 (high level of autonomous driving without human input under selected conditions) are mass-produced.
The car drops off passengers at their destination, finds an empty parking space and parks there on its own. When passengers come back and call the vehicle, the autonomous car identifies their location and goes to pick them up.
This process is achieved through continuous communication between the car and the surrounding infrastructure.
In order for the autonomous driving to be realized, the technological integration and conversion of autonomous driving systems, parking management systems (control infrastructure), precise maps, telematics and high-precision positioning are essential.
Hyundai is currently conducting R&D to further develop the Autonomous Parking Technology by collaborating with companies with related technologies.

Voice Recognition and Intelligence Agent

This is a virtual secretary that provides responses and services according to the intent and thinking of the driver by identifying everyday dialogues. Furthermore, it studies the driver’s driving patterns to suggest services that the driver may need.

At the 2018 CES, Hyundai demonstrated voice secretary services together with SoundHound. On top of general AI services such as making calls, sending and receiving text messages, searches, checking the weather, managing schedules, etc. this system controls vehicle functions such as air conditioners, sunroofs and door locks. Furthermore, you can also use the “Car to Home” service that controls various electronic appliances at home using voice recognition.

Window Display

Window Display is a new communication tool for the automobile to communicate with people outside the vehicle using its windshield.

For example, when the vehicle owner enters the vehicle, it puts a welcome message on the windshield, and additionally can send messages such as “Cross safely” to passing pedestrians.

This is because autonomous driving is the first technological step toward fundamentally transforming the individual and society for a new experience that goes beyond the freedom of driving.
Furthermore, in 2018, Hyundai showcased autonomous driving on the highway for approximately 190 km between Seoul and PyeongChang using a next-generation hydrogen-powered car autonomous driving technology with level 4 based on Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standards.

Using this technology, the autonomous vehicle also measured the passengers’ health state and successfully conducted a video call with a doctor at Gangneung Asan Hospital using the automobile’s AVN.

In the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe for China, unveiled in the 2018 Guangzhou International Motor Show, a smart fingerprint authentication entry system that can be used to lock and unlock doors and start up vehicles was applied for the first time in the world.

In this system, a fingerprint sensor captures an image of the person’s fingerprint and uses the analyzed data to compare it to existing data and determine whether the person is registered. The recognition success rate increases when used by the driver with real-time learning.
In addition, the vehicle offers optimized driving environments such as personalized seat adjustments and wing mirror adjustments, as well automatic connection to Bluetooth.
Thanks to strict encryption technologies, the probability for error is 1/50,000, boasting five times stronger security levels than smart keys.
