Evolution of Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture continues,
as stunning new concept car prepares for Geneva debut

At this year’s Salon International de L’Automobile in Geneva on March 2nd, Hyundai will unveil an all-new concept car which pioneers a new look for a D-segment sedan. A sketch revealed today gives a first glimpse of the concept car – named i-flow – which will make its world première at next month’s show.
Styled at the company’s European design headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany, i-flow is expected to attract much attention, thanks to its striking appearance – the latest product of the company’s evocative new form language, ‘fluidic sculpture’. The name i-flow reflects the exceptionally aerodynamic shape and the flowing lines of the concept car’s eye-catching styling, and retains the ‘i’ prefix of Hyundai’s established nomenclature.
The i-flow incorporates numerous new technologies from chemical company BASF, ranging from innovative lightweight materials to solar cells, to assist in reducing weight and improving energy efficiency.
The Salon will also afford Hyundai the opportunity to showcase the latest developments of its Blue DriveTM eco-focused program. The company is targeting global leadership in environmentally-sensitive technologies, and a host of new models and concepts look set to contribute further to reductions in emissions from new Hyundai vehicles sold in Europe.
The i-flow will share centre stage with the ix35, the company’s exciting new C-segment SUV, which goes on sale across Europe in the spring. Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the vehicle, which Hyundai expects to break new ground in the SUV segment.
More news of Hyundai’s star cars will be published in advance of the show and will be available on the stand. The company’s press conference will take place in Hall 1 at 14:15 (CET) on Tuesday 2nd March.
