HMC Distributes 145 <Angels’ Wings> across Kindergartens with Nightcare Centers across Korea

Hyundai Motor Company distributed 145 to 145  kindergartens across Korea that also operate nightcare centers for children whose parents work until late. The nightcare kindergartens, designated by the Ministry of Education and Science, take care of their students until 10 p.m. during week nights if the students’ parents are both working. These nightcare centers take in students from other neighboring public and private preschools and kindergartens as well. Kim Yeong-mi, a teacher at Seongmo Kindergarten which has received an said: “Our kindergarten is also a nightcare center, so it operates school buses to collect children from neighboring preschools and facilities in the evening. The Angel’s Wing is a great safety device that will help us better ensure the safety of our children at night.”

 

Of the 173 eligible kindergartens and nightcare centers in Korea,  145 with nightly bus schedules were given the Angels’ Wings. The campaign will expand in the near future to provide the safety devices to a growing number of such children facilities. The campaign seeks to distribute a wing-shaped device attachable to buses. These devices are intended to ensure the safety of children who get on and off those vehicles in dark by preventing possible risks and accidents. More than 1,600 Angels’ Wings have been distributed so far, especially to facilities taking care of children with severe disabilities and other childcare facilities.
