SEOUL, March 4, 2019 – Hyundai Motor Company announced today its global sales results for February 2019, during which a total of 313,172 units were sold.
Domestic sales recorded a 6.4 percent year-over-year increase in February, reaching 53,406 units. Hyundai’s popular SUV, Santa Fe, and midsized sedan, Sonata, led the strong growth.
Sales in overseas markets decreased by 0.9 percent compared to February 2018, with 259,766 units sold, as the consumer demand slowed in Europe and Latin America. Other emerging markets, such as Russia, Brazil, and the Asia-Pacific region, showed healthy growths in sales. Hyundai expects Kona – recently named the North American Utility Vehicle of the Year – and other SUVs such as Tucson and Santa Fe to create new momentums in major markets, including the U.S.
