Although every Hyundai vehicle is covered by a factory warranty, certain situations are not covered and are not eligible for claims, as detailed below:
1. Routine Maintenance
Items considered part of regular service are not covered, such as:
• Inspections and adjustments (e.g., battery checks, fuel system checks, wheel alignment, wheel balancing, tire rotation)
• Fluid changes (e.g., engine oil, transmission oil, brake fluid, power-steering fluid, coolant, air-conditioning refrigerant)
2. Wear and Tear
Normal wear from regular use is not covered (unless replacement is required due to a defect in materials or workmanship), e.g., spark plugs, brake pads, clutch and clutch disc, wiper blades, filters, bulbs, fuses, tires, belts, and other consumable parts.
3. Damage or Defects Not Covered by Warranty
The warranty does not cover damages or defects caused by the following:
• Improper maintenance
o Failure to follow scheduled inspections or maintenance as specified in the Owner’s Manual
o Use of incorrect or non-standard fuels, lubricants, or fluids
• Improper use
o Use under unsuitable conditions or methods, such as overloading, improper driving, racing, or using the vehicle for non-designated purposes)
o Damage from accidents, theft, rollover, fire, flood, or natural disasters
• Alteration or modification of the vehicle
o Unauthorized modifications, improper repairs, or unsuitable alterations
o Use of counterfeit or non-genuine Hyundai parts
o Installation of non-Hyundai accessories or equipment
• Normal deterioration
o Wear of parts with a natural limited-service life (e.g., brake pads, clutch, tires, wiper blades, certain bulbs, fuses)
o Aging of interior materials (e.g., fabric, leather seats, door panels, seat trim)
• Non-defect conditions
o Minor noises or vibrations occurring during normal operation of the engine or systems, which do not affect overall performance or quality
4. Accidents and Consequential Losses
• Damages from accidents or unforeseeable events such as fire, flood, collision, or natural disasters
• Consequential costs or losses including fuel, phone charges, freight, transport, commercial losses, personal losses, or loss from vehicle downtime)
5. Special Expenses or Economic Impact
• Any economic loss such as loss of income, time, or opportunity to use the vehicle
• Special expenses such as car rental, accommodation, meals, travel, storage, taxes, or other related consequential costs
6. Vehicle Alterations or Modifications
• Vehicles with tampered or altered odometers
• Vehicles modified or altered from factory specifications
7. Environmental and Using Conditions
• Damage caused by usage in severe environments such as mining sites or construction zones
• Atmospheric effects such as corrosion from salty air in coastal areas, industrial chemicals, acid rain or dust and smog
• Damages from natural disasters such as storms, hail, earthquakes, or other force-majeure events
8. Vehicle Exterior Condition
• Paint damage such as scratches, scuffs, stains, or external marks from normal use
• Road-related impacts such as stone chips, gravel, sand, or dust hitting the vehicle exterior
