PONY EXCEL

1985 ~ 1989
As a follow-up model of PONY, Hyundai Motor revealed a strategic model PONY EXCEL for the overseas market in 1985. PONY EXCEL entered the U.S. market successfully in 1986 and sold 26,000 cars within a year, placed as the top-selling imported car of the year. To gain this success, PONY EXCEL went through strict performance tests in North America.
