A true icon in the era of electrification

The IONIQ 6 has truly stood out as the epitome of our commitment to excellence. The second ground-breaking model in our IONIQ line-up goes beyond being just an electric vehicle; it is a statement – a paradigm shift.

Why? Its exceptional performance, impressive driving range, charging capability, and striking design, have set it apart and helped our IONIQ 6 to win multiple coveted awards including "World Car of the Year", "iF Design Award" and "IIHS Top Safety Pick+".

IONIQ 6 secured these highly-regarded prizes for several reasons. Firstly, it has an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.21, making it one of the most aerodynamic and energy efficient EVs on the market. Secondly, thanks to our E-GMP architecture, it offers 800V, ultra-fast charging capabilities for a 10-80% charge in just 18 minutes!

What’s more, inside the car, you are greeted by a spacious and stylish interior complete with Dual Color Ambient Lighting and EV Active Sound Design (e-ASD). This, along with the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, driver assistance systems, advanced connectivity, and outstanding power make for a truly incomparable driving experience.

The prestige of the 2023 World Car Awards

The IONIQ 6 was also the recipient of 3 awards in the 2023 World Car Awards – “World Car of the Year”, “World Electric Vehicle” and “World Car Design of the Year”!

This recognition is remarkable. Our IONIQ 5 also took home triple honors in the same categories in 2022, underscoring Hyundai's consistent dedication to pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle technology. After all, the World Car of the Year (WCOTY) award represents the zenith of recognition in the automotive industry, a testament to a vehicle's overall performance, design, safety, and environmental impact.

The World Car of the Year award is renowned for their rigorous testing standards. To be eligible for this award, a car needs to be produced in volumes of at least 10,000 units/year, priced below luxury cars, and be “on-sale” in at least two major markets (China, Europe, India, Japan, Korea, Latin America, USA). The eligible cars are then judged by an international jury of around 100 automotive journalists from more than 30 countries over several months.

As the most prestigious award among a myriad of accolades, the World Car of the Year title solidifies IONIQ 6’s status as a true standout in the realm of electric cars. It not only marks a triumph for the IONIQ 6 but also sets its status as a true standout in the world of electric vehicles.

In 2022, the IONIQ 6 was Euro NCAP’s “Best in Class” car in the “Large Family Car” category.

And, this year, it became a recipient of the highly coveted “Top Safety Pick+” Rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This rating, especially this year after the testing has become even stricter, means that our streamliner meets the IIHS’ stringent crash-worthiness tests.
