300,000th Hyundai Solaris Sold in Russia

- The best-selling model reaches a milestone since its production in early 2011

October 31, 2013 - Hyundai Motor CIS (HMCIS) has reached an important milestone as it sold the 300,000th Hyundai Solaris this week. This fantastic result has been achieved in just 33 months since the launch of this best-selling model that is produced locally at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Russia (HMMR).

Production of the Solaris started in early 2011 and it was very well received as soon as the model was launched to the Russian market. By January 2012, the company set its first record of 100,000 cars sold and then went on to reach sales of 200,000 by the end of 2012.

The General Director of HMCIS, Mr. Koo Young Key, said: “Reaching the milestone of selling the 300,000th Solaris is a great achievement for us and we are all very proud. This demonstrates the success of our localization strategy and we will continue the development of Solaris to ensure that it continues to be a strong product offering for our customers and one of the most popular cars in the Russian market. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to all of our customers, who we value greatly.”

The success of the Hyundai Solaris is due to the vehicle’s combination of excellent performance, modern design and high levels of comfort and fuel economy, making it appeal to people of different ages and lifestyles. The strong product attributes is why it’s a double holder of the “Russian Car of the Year” Award 2012 and 2013.
