Jakarta, November 7, 2023 – Today, Hyundai Motor Company, a sustainable mobility partner of FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™, announced the handover of 148 fleet vehicles including its CRETA, STARGAZER, PALISADE as well as its IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 BEVs for FIFA executives and officials at Jakarta International Stadium. As a sustainable mobility partner of FIFA, Hyundai will facilitate seamless and efficient transportation operations during the tournament in Indonesia.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup is a global youth football tournament held every two years since 1985. Indonesia is hosting the event for the first time, and this edition also marks the debut of the Garuda Muda team in the tournament. The FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™ will welcome 24 teams and will take place from November 10 to December 2 in four cities and stadiums: Jakarta (Jakarta International Stadium), Bandung (Jalak Harupat Stadium), Surabaya (Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium), and Surakarta (Manahan Stadium).

We are proud to be part of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™. This partnership reinforces Hyundai Motor's commitment to support younger generations and help young football players reach their full potential as football’s popularity keeps growing here in Indonesia. We hope that the presence of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 BEVs alongside other Hyundai flagship models will ensure the smooth running of the tournament. Our ‘Goal of the Century’ campaign is testament to our desire to help young Indonesian players achieve their dreams.

Woojune Cha

President Director PT, Hyundai Motors Indonesia

The collaboration between FIFA and Hyundai, in place for over 24 years, has had remarkable impact through sharing the excitement of football for fans worldwide. We are excited by the continuation of the partnership with Hyundai as we work together to support the progress of football globally and to offer fans the chance to get closer to the latest mobility solutions and innovations Hyundai will develop and bring to future tournaments. For this tournament in Indonesia, we are very grateful for Hyundai’s support to create an exciting campaign for football fans and to support FIFA with a range of vehicles, including many eco-friendly models like the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 BEVs.

Hyundai Invites Indonesians to Join the Excitement of 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup with #ChampsofTomorrow

To support the success of the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia™, HMID is organizing a series of activities called #ChampsofTomorrow. From October 19 to November 23, 2023, visitors can take part in test drives with a chance to win tickets and travel packages for some of the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia™ matches. The special test drive activity will be available at all Hyundai dealers and exhibitions, and at Hyundai Driving Experience SCBD and Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park.

In addition, a friendly futsal tournament will be held for young Indonesians aged 12 to 15, featuring a total of 32 teams across the four cities hosting the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia™. The winners of the futsal competition will receive tickets for games hosted in their respective cities and a support prize intended to nurture and develop young talents in football.

To further celebrate the solid and lasting partnership between Hyundai Motor and FIFA, Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has installed a brand activation zone in each of the four stadiums hosting the tournament. Visitors can also join in exciting activities and win Hyundai merchandise at a special booth powered by the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature from IONIQ 5.

The entire #ChampsofTomorrow activities series is an HMID initiative designed to allow the public to witness historic moments at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia™.
