At the company’s office building in Yangjae-dong, on the 22nd of this month, HMC signed a MOU with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on cultivating a specialized technical workforce and building an industrial-academic alliance with Maister High School for the purpose of enhancing the orkforce’s technological competitiveness. HMC and the MEST will select 100 highly qualified students from among the Year-1 students at Maister High School, providing them with after-school extracurricular activities, intensive training during holidays, and onsite training programs so as to help them learn about the latest auto technology, including preservation and molding. The number of students benefiting from this program will be increased to a cumulative total of 1,000 over the next 10 years. In addition, HMC will provide financial aid of 5 million won for the students, while providing them with expert instructors and trainers to help them with their extracurricular activities after school. HMC will hire students who have successfully completed all these programs on a full-time basis, and help them become the best craftsmen and technicians in their fields by providing them with specialized training and mentoring services even after they are hired.
