2011.11.23 17:44:13 No. 15942

220 elementary school students in Seoul participate in the volunteer activities.

HMC held a ceremony on May 10 to launch the 2010 Hope Engine School Volunteers Corps at its corporate headquarters in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, along with the Korean Social Welfare Council. The organization consists of 220 elementary school students who will volunteer in a variety of activities. The Hope Engine School Volunteers Corps seeks to instil in students an orientation toward active social volunteerism and sharing. Two students were selected from each of the 110 elementary schools in Seoul. HMC and the Korean Social Welfare Council will run the volunteers corps jointly, which will continue its activities until the end of March next year.

Seo Yeong-joon, a sixth grader at Seoul Ogeum Elementary School who participated in the day’s event, said: “I am very happy to join this volunteers’ corps and represent my school here. I hope to learn a lot about volunteerism and sharing through my activities in the organization and bring my friends along in efforts to help others.”
