Hyundai’s Displays Face-Lifted Santa Fe and `Blue Will’ at 2010 NAIAS in Detroit
(Detroit, U.S.A.) At the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Hyundai Motor Co. unveiled the face-lifted version of Santa Fe and the Blue-Will Plug-in Hybrid concept.
The face-lifted Santa Fe has an updated exterior design and comes with a whole new engine and six-speed automatic transmission system, meaning superior fuel efficiency and driving performance. It has added many state-of-the-art technologies to reinforce safety and better support the driver under various traffic situations.
Blue-Will (codenamed HND-4), which integrates Hyundai’s latest hybrid and designing know-how, also makes its U.S. debut at Detroit. Though only a concept, it will be a preview for things to come from Hyundai.
In addition, Hyundai has designated a `Blue Drive Zone’ to exhibit new eco-friendly models and technologies. Over 16 models will be on display at Hyundai’s booth, including the all-new Sonata and Tucson, award-winning Genesis, and Hyundai’s new luxury flagship EQUUS.
Furthermore, to demonstrate the safety features of Genesis, Hyundai Motor arranged a `Genesis Safety Display’ area. Hyundai will also display `Hope on Wheels,’ the Santa Fe vehicle that travels the U.S. gathering handprints of children battling cancer.
The NAIAS Auto Show, which is in its 103rd year, is one of the world’s top five motor shows. The show will take place for about two weeks starting Jan. 11.
