Hyundai Brings the World Cup™ to Europe’s football fans
Hyundai Motor kicks off its FIFA 2010 World Cup South Africa™ extravaganza today with a pan-European road show, giving football lovers all over the continent the opportunity to come together in celebration of this summer’s football games – and even win tickets to attend the finals in South Africa.
The 21-day long tour will take place in each of the 12 European countries represented at the tournament, engaging with fans and sharing the passion of the year’s biggest sporting event. Hyundai Motor Co., one of the six official partners of the FIFA 2010 World Cup™, will launch a 52-vehicle convoy from its European head office in Offenbach, Germany. The fleet will comprise of Hyundai’s most popular models in Europe, namely the i20 and i30 cars and ix35 compact SUVs, all dressed with graphics and images depicting the event.
The cars will split into four groups, travelling to major cities in the 12 countries. During the latter stages of the competition, the cars will return to the nations who qualify for the final rounds, up to and including the final on 11 July. At each city stop Hyundai will be staging a range of interactive games and events for fans. The decorated cars will also parade through each of the hosting venues and be displayed in dealer showrooms, even being available for test drives. Dealerships will also offer games and activities, offering great prizes such as a Vuvuzela, a South African blowing horn, and T-shirts to official World Cup™ footballs.
The European road show will blend in with Hyundai Motor’s other marketing programs such as the Hyundai Fan Parks, where fans can watch the games on huge screens in major public spaces, revving up the excitement of the games.
Allan Rushforth, Vice President at Hyundai Motor Europe, says, “Hyundai is very proud to be an official partner to this summer’s World Cup celebrations, further cementing our position as a dynamic global brand and a supporter of football.
