FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 20, 2010 The Hyundai Genesis sedan and all-new 2010 Tucson crossover topped their respective categories in the 2010 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. Genesis, a repeat winner, took home the honor in the “Aspirational Luxury Car Class” which includes strong competitors from brands like Mercedes, BMW and Lexus among others. The new Tucson, which launched late last year, earned top honors in the “Compact Crossover SUV Class.”

AutoPacific's Vehicle Satisfaction Award measures how satisfied an owner is with his/her new car or light truck. This study by the Southern California-based automotive research firm summarizes the results of over 42,000 new

vehicle owners.

“Hyundai is revamping its entire fleet with exciting products like Genesis and Tucson leading a wave of new model introductions from Hyundai and customers are taking notice,” said Scott Margason, director of product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “The AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are an important indicator that we’ve hit the mark when it comes to pleasing our buyers – a very encouraging sign as we bring new models like the all-new 2011 Sonata to market this year, and prepare for more to come.”

The 2010 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are based on scores developed using results from AutoPacific’s national Vehicle Satisfaction Survey. Respondents to this survey are owners of the new 2010 model year cars and trucks. Respondents rate 48 attributes for importance in the purchase decision and satisfaction after purchase.

“Vehicles that score highest in the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are delivering value and satisfaction across a wide range of attributes,” said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. “The winners perform well in 48 separate categories that objectively measure the ownership experience.”

The Hyundai Genesis is built on Hyundai’s performance-driven rear-wheel-drive architecture. It offers two powertrains, the Lambda 3.8-liter V6 engine and Hyundai’s Tau 4.6-liter V8 engine. With technology rivaling more expensive luxury sedans, Genesis showcases features such as XM NavTraffic, Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS), Lexicon® audio systems and electronic active head restraints.

In 2010, a revolutionary new Tucson joined the rapidly evolving Hyundai product line. The sleek crossover from Hyundai, with its athletic European design, improves in every functional area, from its roomier cabin with extra cargo space to its leap in fuel economy and technology. Tucson features the company’s “Fluidic Sculpture” design language and is the first vehicle in Hyundai’s 24/7 version 2.0 product initiative (seven all-new models by the end of 2011).
