(Seoul, Korea) Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea’s largest automaker, today handed over the official vehicles for the G20 Seoul Summit in front of the Coex Center in Seoul, where the summit will take place. Hyundai Motor is providing a total of 129 vehicles throughout the summit, highlighted by the Equus Limousine, which will carry G20 leaders.

“We are proud to provide the official vehicles for such a high-profile global event,” Hyundai Motor Vice Chairman Euisun Chung said during the handover ceremony. “This will be a great opportunity for world leaders to experience the high quality and great performance of our cars. We believe it will help to enhance Hyundai’s global brand value, as well as strengthen the Korean auto industry’s global competitiveness.”

“Hyundai Motor’s vehicles will contribute greatly to the success of the summit. The fact that the world’s leaders will be driven in Korean cars is something to be very proud of,” said Si-Hyung Lee, Ambassador at the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit.

In order to ensure trouble-free operation, Hyundai will be running a 24/7 maintenance support team at all the major venues, including the event sites, hotels and airport, in case of emergencies. Furthermore, to ensure the quality of the vehicles, Chairman & CEO Mong-Koo Chung personally inspected the fleet of cars provided for the summit.

Hyundai Motor will also take advantage of the sponsorship to showcase its “Blue” technology to the world. In addition to its first high-speed electric car, BlueOn, Hyundai will provide electric buses and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) buses for the summit staff during the period.
