HYUNDAI HOPE ON WHEELS GRANTS $50,000 TO THE KAPI‘OLANI MEDICAL CENTER FOR WOMEN & CHILDREN AND MAUI MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER

Donation Part of Hyundai Tournament of Champions Season-Opening PGA TOUR Event

LAHAINA, Hawaii, Jan. 6, 2011 – At the 2011 Hyundai Tournament of Champions , Hyundai Hope on Wheels® donated $50,000 to the Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children , Hawaii’s only full-service children’s hospital, in partnership with Maui Memorial Medical Center to continue their efforts in the fight against childhood cancer across Hawaii. As cancer still remains the leading cause of death by disease of children in the U.S., these grant funds will allow Kapi‘olani Medical Center and Maui Memorial to continue programs and research to help kids fight cancer.
“The numerous charitable activities associated with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and spearheaded by the Mark and Debi Rolfing Charitable Foundation are making an incredible difference in the lives of local children,” said Zafar Brooks, program director, Hyundai Hope on Wheels. “At Hyundai, we want to be a positive part of the communities in which we live and work, and this donation will help these leading healthcare facilities of Hawaii continue the fight against pediatric cancer.”
Hyundai Hope on Wheels is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is supported nationwide by all of Hyundai’s approximately 800 dealers to support healthcare organizations in the fight against childhood cancer. With a portion of every car sold donated by Hyundai and its dealers, Hyundai Hope on Wheels has donated more than $23 million to children’s hospitals nationwide to help kids fight cancer. This is the first of many grants Hyundai Hope on Wheels will award in 2011, the 13th year of helping kids fight cancer. To learn more, please visit www.HyundaiHopeOnWheels.org .
