Seoul, Nov. 25, 2019 – Hyundai Motor Company (the Company) conducted the ‘Chelsea Youth Football Camp,’ a special training event with Chelsea FC legend Ashley Cole and Chelsea FC Foundation coaches on November 23-24 on the football field at Beijing Hyundai Motor Company’s R&D Center.
The football camp was established to expand the Company’s communication and brand value with customers in the Chinese market. Hyundai Motor invited 180 youth aged seven to fifteen, whose parents participated in Beijing Hyundai Motor Company’s pre-marketing campaign: ‘Your Dreams are Closer than You Think.’ The invited youth had the chance to meet Chelsea FC legend and under-15 coach, Ashley Cole for football training.
Cole is renowned as one of the best left-backs to have played in the Premier League. Besides playing for Chelsea FC from 2006 to 2014, he played for the England’s national team and was selected as England’s player of the year in 2010. His 20-year playing career saw him win three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, the League Cup and the Champions League. He announced his retirement as a player in August 2019 and began his coaching career at Chelsea FC in October.
“I’m honoured to be part of the Hyundai x Chelsea FC Youth Football Camp in Beijing. It has been a great pleasure coaching the kids and witnessing their passion for football,” said Ashley Cole. “Hopefully this would be a start to the many youth football camps to come for inspiring youth football players to participate.”
The training sessions were conducted by age, dividing the youth into four groups. The Chelsea FC Foundation coaches used the same curriculum used by Chelsea youth team athletes.
Besides the training sessions conducted by Chelsea FC legend and Chelsea FC Foundation Coaches, there were many photos and signing events for participants.
“We are so happy to have been given the opportunity to run a camp with the English Premier League’s renowned Chelsea FC to provide an unforgettable experience to all of the participating youth,” said Wonhong Cho, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President at Hyundai Motor Company. “We plan to expand the Hyundai Motor x Chelsea FC Youth Football Camp for young football fans around the world and plan various global marketing campaigns in partnership with Chelsea FC.”
The Youth Football Camp is planned to expand to other regions for football fans around the world by 2020.
