The head office of Hyundai Motor Company implemented the helping hand for the realization of social responsibility of enterprise through voluntary service, providing the village in a sisterhood relationship, that was suffering from the labor shortage for the farming season, with helping hands with 118 staffs of the head office in Wolwun village, Hongcheon, Kangwon Province on the 20th day last May. The helping hand activities were the establishment of supporting sticks for pepper trees, the establishment of various kinds of facilities and repair and maintenance. Members of staff said, “It was very worthwhile for us to help the village in a sisterhood relationship, staying out of the routine office work and sweating to work in spite of our poor ability.” On the one hand, the Daegu regional head office of Hyundai Motor checked vehicles and farming machines free of charge in Naedong village, Donggu district, Daegu, which was a village in a sisterhood relationship and adjacent villages on the 12th day of May. The head office entered into the ‘One Company One Village Sisterhood Relationship’ with Naedong village in June last year and has been exchanging common programs like the helping hand for the farming seasons, the purchase of agricul- tural products, the factory visit of villagers, and vehicle check service in free of charge and so on. As a result of various exchange programs, the One Company One Village Movement of Hyundai Motor Company was evaluated as a practical model of mutual prosperity between city and country, appointed as ‘a certified enterprise of social contribution’ which Rural Village Love Movement Organization and the Korea Standard Association recognized last year.
