Hyundai Wins Big at MEMA Awards
Accent and Elantra take top honours
United Arab Emirates, 16th of November 2011- Hyundai Motors reigns victorious at this year’s Middle East Motor Awards (MEMA) – the biggest and most prestigious awards of the regional automotive industry held at Expo Centre Sharjah recently - capturing the coveted ‘Best Subcompact’ for the Accent and ‘Best Small Sedan’ with the Elantra.
Judged by a panel of distinguished motoring experts and enthusiasts, the awards are organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Unaffiliated with any publication, automaker or commercial enterprise, the awards maintain their credibility and integrity for recognising movers and shakers within the industry.
Khaled Issa, COO of Juma Al Majid Group, “Even better than one, Hyundai being recognised by two awards is certainly an achievement we hold dear. We are thrilled that our hard work and commitment to providing sound quality vehicles at a great value has been recognised by MEMA and we hold this precedent as a benchmark to work harder to continue to achieve more.”
Capturing ‘Best Subcompact’, the Hyundai Accent proves that purchasing a small car is not synonymous to compromise. With the new Accent, there is more space, safety and style, all with the best class in fuel efficiency.
Issa added, “The Hyundai Accent is the little car that could, beating out the rest for giving customers more of what they want in a smaller package.”
Alongside its victorious neighbour, the Hyundai Elantra proved its worth by winning the ‘Best Small Sedan’ for its head-turning style, fuel efficiency, upscale options, along with a strew of standard safety features.
“The Elantra’s secret for success is pure and simple: content rich while surprisingly attainable. Customers get what they want - a car that rivals big-car comfort sedans, coupled with power, safety and affordability.” Issa said.
“We continue to work hard to move above and beyond for our customers, and we promise to continue to do so. We offer our express gratitude towards MEMA for giving us this opportunity and we look forward to another award-winning year.” Concluded Issa.
