Music and motoring - a perfect symphony

101 musicians from 33 countries
Six engaging performances
Two stunning locations
One Grand Finale event

Hyundai Motor Company is the presenting partner of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011, the world’s first collaborative, online, international orchestra. 101 musicians from over 30 countries will be flown to Sydney for a week of concerts culminating in a Grand Finale performance at Sydney Opera House, which will be streamed live globally via YouTube.

The YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011 will showcase the extraordinary talents of this truly global ensemble. Under the inspiring leadership of internationally acclaimed conductor and Grammy award-winner Michael Tilson Thomas, the orchestra will perform over a week of festivities, culminating in a Grand Finale performance on 20th March, 2011.

This spectacular Grand Finale event will be streamed live via YouTube to a world audience and promises to be a multimedia extravaganza of soaring music accompanied by extraordinary projections within the interior of Sydney Opera House’s Concert Hall as well as outside on its iconic Sails.

Circular Quay will come alive to the sounds of symphony when Hyundai presents an outdoor LIVE SITE designed to give the general public a prime location from which to enjoy the spectacular event. Located at First Fleet Park (adjacent to the Museum of Contemporary Art), the precinct provides the perfect vantage point for the magnificent Opera House projections. The entire performance will be streamed live from the Opera House Concert Hall to a giant onsite screen located at the Hyundai LIVE SITE, while live audio will be broadcast across the precinct.

As well as supporting live music, Hyundai will offer Australians their first glimpse of one of the ‘cars of the future’, the stunning all-new Veloster. Veloster's unique three door layout has one door on the driver's side and two doors on the opposite side allowing easy rear seat access. Veloster will be on display at two locations, on the Western Broadwalk of Sydney Opera House and at the First Fleet Park Hyundai LIVE SITE between the 16th and 20th March. The Hyundai LIVE SITE will also feature an amazing Veloster driving simulator and interactive iPad displays.

The Hyundai LIVE SITE precinct will also host bespoke small-ensemble performances throughout the week, giving visitors to Circular Quay the opportunity to engage in an intimate and exclusive musical experience.

“Bringing the YouTube Symphony Orchestra to Sydney – and the world – in collaboration with Google represents our company’s brand philosophy – New Thinking. New Possibilities,” said Oliver Mann, Marketing Director, Hyundai Motor Company Australia. “We look forward to welcoming and entertaining visitors at both Sydney Opera House and the Hyundai LIVE SITE.”

The Grand Finale concert commences at 8.00pm, Sunday 20th March, 2011 . Visitors are welcome to enjoy the event at the Hyundai LIVE SITE at Circular Quay.
