2011.11.18 13:49:10 No. 15913

In Sudan, there are various under privileged schools in several parts of the country with limited infrastructure and facilities. Students do not have good seating or writing facilities, hence they are supposed to sit on the ?oor and use any hard board available to them for writing assistance. By using the “Lap Desk”, Students had the seating and writing comfort and uniformity to create a convenient learning environment. Also some lap desks were distributed to some hospitals as many patients needed a desk for eating while they are on bed instead of holding their food with their hands while eating. The budget of the project is $50,000 ($30,000 from HMC and $20,000 from El Barbary Engineering). Approximately, 1800 lap desks were distributed. The project took place from the 15th till the 24th of December 2010. The media and the public welcomed this project and several requests from unprivileged schools and hospitals were sent to the Barbary group in Sudan for next year’sproject.
