Hyundai Motor Lights up Milan with Innovative Installation Art

     - ‘Fluidic – Sculpture in Motion’ to receive dramatic unveiling on April 8

April 2, 2013 - Hyundai Motor Company is set to mark its third consecutive year of involvement in Milan Design Week with an exciting and interactive light installation, inspired by the brand’s fluidic sculpture design language.

Reflecting the signature design featured on Hyundai cars, ‘Fluidic – Sculpture in Motion’, which will be unveiled at a press preview on April 8 in the Art Point Room of the ‘Temporary Museum for New Design’ in Milan, Italy, is on display throughout Milan Design Week (April 9 – 14, 2013).  The unique installation, occupying 1,000 square meters and incorporating 12,000 luminescent spheres, creates dynamic virtual sculptures using lights, conveying the essence of fluidic sculpture – the inspirational role played by nature and the ability to continuously adapt to the changing environment.

The installation will be accompanied by a program of entertainment specially created by renowned German choreographer Nikeata Thompson, combining performance art, music and dance, on April 8 for press. The installation will be made available to the public on April 13 and 14 accompanied by DJ sets from Jan Jelinek of SCAPE.

In addition to conveying Hyundai’s design language, the innovative installation will allow visitors to influence its constantly evolving shape.  The installation senses human presence, allowing the creation of new and striking three-dimensional images that can be manipulated by gestures. More details on the installation will be released on April 8.
