• January sales total 313,313 units, down 7.7 percent Y/y
SEOUL, Feb. 1, 2019 – Hyundai Motor Company, today announced its global sales results for January 2019, recording a total of 313,313 units sold. Strong sales in Korea market led by strong SUV demand helped offset softer demand outside of Korea including China market.
Korea Sales
Sales in Korea increased by 17.5 percent from a year earlier to 60,440 units. Expanded SUV line-up including Palisade flagship SUV, Tucson and Kona led the strong beginning of the year.
Overseas Sales
Sales in overseas markets decreased by 12.2 percent year-over-year, posting 252,873 units as industry demand slowed in China. Other emerging markets such as Russia and Asia Pacific region continued show healthy sales growth.
