SEOUL, November 1, 2022 – Hyundai Motor Company today announced its October 2022 global sales of 347,324 units, a 12.2 percent increase year-over-year. Despite ongoing geopolitical issues, global sales have recovered steadily this year due in part to new model launches and rising demand.

In markets outside of Korea, Hyundai Motor sold a total of 286,588 units, a 13.9 percent increase from a year earlier. Strong sales in North and South America, India and Asia-Pacific markets helped to drive momentum.

Sales in Korea were up by 5.1 percent year-over-year to 60,736 units with solid sales performance by SUV models and Genesis luxury brand vehicles, selling 16,971 units and 11,291 units, respectively. The newly launched IONIQ 6, available to customer since October, sold 3,667 units in the period.

Despite unfavorable external conditions, including ongoing shortages of components and cost fluctuations of raw materials, Hyundai Motor will continue to alleviate business uncertainties by optimizing production and inventory while diversifying business strategies tailored to each region.

Hyundai’s global sales turned positive in the period from January to October by an increase of 0.4 percent from a year earlier, spurred by a global sales recovery. The company aims to maintain this trend for the rest of this year with a strengthened product lineup, including IONIQ 6. Furthermore, the company is preparing to launch its seventh-generation Grandeur sedan, badged as Azera in markets outside Korea.
