How to: OTA software updates made easy.
If a new software version is available, it can be downloaded directly into the vehicle. The download will start while driving, but installation only starts once the vehicle is parked and switched off. The driver can preview infos on the current update to decide whether the installation should be carried out immediately or later. The car cannot be started during the update. When installation is finished you’ll receive a notification on your smartphone.

OTA updates are free of charge during the complimentary period of Bluelink services. In order to keep using the OTA updates after the complimentary period, you need to extend your subscription of Bluelink.

The infotainment system will guide your which steps are necessary to conduct a vehicle software update successfully. There is nothing what you can do wrong.
After turning off the engine and pressing the update "Start" button – Do I have to wait in the car until the installation is finished?
The vehicle update should be performed according to the instructions on the Infotainment screen. There are certain requirements you may have to fulfil. Once this is done, you can leave the car and do not have to wait until the update installation is finished.
