1.0 T-GDi petrol engine.

The 1.0-litre T-GDi engine comes with 120 PS and a 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). A 48V mild hybrid version is also available for better fuel efficiency. For the first time, a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) has become an option. Max Power: 120 PS, Max. Torque: 172 Nm

1.5 T-GDi 48V petrol engine.

At the top of the range is the new 1.5-litre T-GDi engine with 159 PS, which comes standard with 48V mild hybrid technology. It is also available as a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). Max Power: 159 PS, Max. Torque: 253 Nm

1.6 CRDi diesel engine.

The 1.6-litre Diesel engine with 136 PS now comes standard with a 48V mild hybrid system. It is available with either a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). Max. Power: 136 PS, Max. Torque: 320 Nm (with DCT)

Transmission options for your driving style.

The i30 Fastback is available with a six-speed manual, a seven-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT) or the newly developed six-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). The iMT supports the reduction of fuel consumption in a 48V mild hybrid car.

Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT).

For increased fuel efficiency, the iMT decouples the engine from the transmission after the accelerator is released. The vehicle goes into coasting mode.*

7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).

The 7-speed dual clutch transmission combines the fuel efficiency and driving fun of a manual transmission with the convenience of an automatic.

Comfort Start.

The mild hybrid system is particularly useful in city traffic, with the Mild Hybrid Starter Generator (MHSG) supporting the combustion engine when re-starting after traffic stops. It supports a faster and smoother engine start with supplemental torque, drawing on energy from the 48V battery.

Acceleration.

Under acceleration, the starter generator supports the engine with 4 to 10 kW of power, depending on the battery system’s charge and the driver's accelerator input. Once the required speed is reached, the system shifts to neutral mode, delivering no power. As a result, CO2 emissions and fuel consumption can be reduced.

Charging while driving.

At a constant speed, the system either is at idle or acts as a generator charging the 48V battery, depending on the battery state of charge.

Recuperation.

In active braking or overrun phases, the rotating crankshaft powers the starter generator, which then recuperates a maximum output of 10 to 12 kW. The generator converts the kinetic braking energy into electricity and feeds it back into the 48V battery.

Extended start-stop.

When coasting at low speeds, the start-stop function activates at 30 km/h. Under deceleration between 30 and 0 km/h, and with the clutch disengaged, the engine is switched off completely.

Lane Following Assist (LFA).

For the first time, the i30 features Lane Following Assist (LFA). When activated, it keeps the car centred in its lane at speeds between 0 and 180 km/h on highways and city streets.
Forward Collision-avoidance Assist (FCA).

Sensing the road ahead with radar and a camera, the FCA system automatically brakes when it detects sudden braking by the car ahead, or pedestrians and bicycles on the road.
Blind Spot Collision-avoidance Assist (BCA).

Using two radar sensors in the lower rear bumper, the system warns you of traffic in the blind spot area. Should you set the turn indicator in such a situation, it will sound an acoustic alert and brake to prevent collision.
Rear Cross-traffic Collision-avoidance Assist (RCCA).

When reversing out of areas with low visibility, the system not only warns the driver if vehicles approach from the side – it also applies the brakes automatically.
Leading vehicle departure alert (LVDA).

This clever feature for city driving alerts the driver when the vehicle in front departs from an idle state, like at a stoplight or in a traffic jam.
Lane Keeping Assist (LKA).

In case of an unintended lane departure, LKA warns the driver and can apply counter steering torque to guide the car back to the lane.
Driver Attention Warning (DAW).

When a pattern of fatigue or distraction is identified, the system gets your attention with an alert and pop-up message suggesting a break.

High Beam Assist (HBA).

Less stress, maximum visibility. HBA not only detects oncoming vehicles but also vehicles in the same lane ahead and switches to low-beam as appropriate.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW).

Wireless charging.

The wireless charging tray conveniently located in the centre console lets you easily charge a compatible Qi-enabled smartphone without the use of cables.
Parking assist.

Ultrasonic sensors on the front and rear bumpers give audible and visual warnings when obstacles are detected.
Rear-view camera.

The rear-view camera activates when reverse is selected, so you can see where you’re going on the screen.
Heated and ventilated seats.

The front seats are available with a 3-step ventilation and heating system for a comfortable drive in every kind of weather.
Automatic air conditioning.

Both driver and front passenger can set their preferred temperatures individually. Just select the desired temperature and the system does the rest.
Electronic Parking Brake (EPB).

An easy-to-use button activates or deactivates the optional Electronic Parking Brake.
