Dr. Minwoo Park

SEOUL, Jan. 13, 2026 – Hyundai Motor Group announced the appointment of Dr. Minwoo Park, a global expert in autonomous driving technology, as Head of its Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) Division and CEO of 42dot to strengthen software-defined vehicles (SDV) and autonomous driving-based vehicle software competitiveness.

The appointment marks a strategic initiative by the Group to accelerate its transformation into a software-centered mobility company. Park brings expertise from leading tech companies, including NVIDIA and Tesla, where he led autonomous driving development from research through to commercialization.

Hyundai Motor Group possesses a uniquely strong foundation to rapidly realize world-class competitiveness in Physical AI across software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving, and robotics. I aim to make it a company where technology and people work together to lead the next generation of intelligent mobility, setting a new global benchmark for innovation.

With this appointment, the Group aims to accelerate development and business application of vehicle software technology across SDV and autonomous driving. The move is expected to enhance execution of the Group's SDV strategy, advance technology development, and speed up product development.

Background and Experience

Park most recently served as Vice President at NVIDIA, where he built the development framework for autonomous driving perception technology and led the mass production and commercialization of the company's self-driving software platform. He spearheaded significant vehicle integration projects for global automakers, orchestrating perception, sensor fusion, and deep learning teams to deliver industry-leading autonomous solutions.

During his tenure at Tesla, Park led the first Tesla Vision release for Autopilot, eliminating reliance on external suppliers by pioneering the company’s transition to proprietary camera-centric deep learning systems that established the foundation for software-defined autonomous technology.

Leadership Structure

The appointment completes the Group's core leadership structure for future mobility technology development. In December 2025, the Group named Manfred Harrer as head of its R&D Division, and with Park now overseeing the AVP Division and 42dot, has assembled key leadership to drive competitiveness in future mobility technologies.

Hyundai Motor Group will compete more aggressively in the rapidly evolving automotive software landscape, while increasing competition with tech companies in autonomous and software-defined vehicles.
