SEOUL / FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 19, 2022 – The Hyundai 2022 IONIQ 5 was named EV of the Year in MotorBiscuit’s 2022 Vehicle Awards. After thoroughly reviewing the IONIQ 5, against dozens of models and competitors, the MotorBiscuit team presented IONIQ 5 with a score of 9.2 out of 10 commenting, “it’s clear that rivals have some catching up to do.”

MotorBiscuit editors tested several vehicles that set new standards for value, performance, technology, or driving experience.

“IONIQ 5 is quickly becoming one of the most-awarded EVs on the market, and we’re excited to add the MotorBiscuit EV of the Year to our growing list of accolades,” said Ricky Lao, director, product planning, Hyundai Motor North America. “From its sleek, yet purposeful design and intuitive convenience features to unrivaled performance, driving range and charging capability, IONIQ 5 was built from the ground up to meet the needs of the EV customer of the future.”

Quotes from MotorBiscuit

“When you get in the new 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5, you feel like you’re living in 2032, not 2022, said Dan Mayfield, staff writer, MotorBiscuit.” “The electric IONIQ 5 SUV seems to manage an EV hat trick of packaging an excellent ride, unmatched comfort, and great driving manners with quiet power. While it’s not as large as other SUVs, it still manages to seat five comfortably, offers all-wheel drive, and has a good-sized cargo area. It even earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation.”

“The IONIQ 5 looks futuristic outside, but Hyundai didn’t forget about the interior, where we spend our time, where it added most of the creature comforts we all want,” added Mayfield. “You can slip it into quiet mode and turn on the sounds of nature, which is just the mode to hear the tires squeal to deal with its optional 320-horsepower dual-motor drive.”
