January 2010 Highlights (year-on-year)
Domestic Sales
▶ Up 68.9%, due to a base effect from a year earlier when the consumer demand was the
lowest since the 1997-98 Asian financial crisis, weighed down by a sluggish economy. At the
same time, the succesful launch of new models, Tucson ix and Sonata, also boosted the
sales.
▶ The Sonata ranked top in the Korea market, selling 15,362 units. Of this figure, 13,928 units
were the all-new Sonata model, which was launched in the domestic market last year in
September.
Overseas Sales
▶ Up 45.9%.
▶ Exports up 27.8%.
▶ Sales of overseas plant increased by 56.0%.
