SEOUL, October 1, 2021 – Hyundai Motor Company today announced global sales results for September 2021. The company sold 281,196 units globally last month, a decrease of 22.3 percent from a year earlier.
Overseas Sales
The company sold 237,339 units outside of Korea, down 19.4 percent from a year earlier.
Korea Sales
Sales in Korea decreased 34.6 percent year-over-year to 43,857 units. Sales in this month were affected by fewer working days due to the Korean Thanksgiving holiday.
The overall decrease mainly resulted from the COVID-19 resurgence and the disruption of the semiconductor part supply around the globe.
Hyundai Motor expects that sales could be slowed down for the 4Q of this year amid adverse business conditions caused by the same issues.
Nevertheless, Hyundai Motor will make every effort to recover its sales momentum for the rest of the year and proactively cope with the risks.
