Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul attracts 200,000 visitors
in just eighteen months after opening
• Visitors enjoy car-related artworks, talk shows and concerts at Hyundai Motorstudio
• Innovative studio wins Bronze Award at the 2015 Design for Asia Awards
• New programs and events underway for future visitors to experience Hyundai brand
December 4, 2015 - Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul, a space dedicated to helping consumers experience the Hyundai brand, reached a major milestone by welcoming its 200,000th visitor yesterday, just 18 months after opening.
Wonhong Cho, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor, said, “Welcoming our 200,000th visitor is a major achievement for this exciting new facility and Hyundai Motor. This milestone illustrates how Hyundai Motorstudio has firmly established itself as a space like no other, where we can engage and communicate with our customers and those who are new to the Hyundai brand.”
Going beyond a place to exhibit and sell cars, Hyundai Motorstudio is now a cultural space where customers can enjoy artworks, gain an insight into future automotive technologies, read books about cars and interact with a range of assets and services – all reflecting Hyundai’s evolving brand direction.
The studio also conducts innovative programs to communicate with customers. In March and May 2015, the Motorstudio hosted events where customers were able to meet Jin-pyo Kim, a famous Korean car racer and Hyundai Motor engineers to hear about challenges in modern motorsport and engineering.
Since June, a series of open forum events entitled ‘Human Library’, involving a variety of famous people has been held on the last Friday of every month. Participating celebrities have included a chef, illusionist, movie director and musicians.
The space is also utilized as a cultural platform with media artists such as UVA (United Visual
Artists), EVERYWARE and HYBE showcasing their artworks on the first floor and on large display screens, attracting many additional visitors to the Hyundai Motorstudio since December last year.
The Hyundai Motorstudio also won the Bronze Prize in Environmental Design category at the 2015 Design for Asia Awards. The award was given to Eulho Suh of Suh Architects, the designer of the Hyundai Motorstudio. The judges praised the design of the space itself and its brand impact.
As part of the celebrations for reaching 200,000 visitors, Hyundai Motorstudio will hold a ‘Signature Concert’ for over 400 customers. Nathan East Band will present a live jazz performance for customers as part of a series of live concerts to interact with consumers.
Hyundai Motorstudio continues to highlight company’s brand direction of Modern Premium, which is about providing new values and experiences to yet more customers of today through ways that are unique to the brand. To promote automotive culture with the Hyundai brand, Hyundai Motor opened a second Hyundai Motorstudio Moscow, becoming Hyundai Motor’s the first overseas brand space and non-sales showroom in the Russian market.
