Hyundai unveils the all new Next Gen i10

 

-  Uncompromising style, new powerplant & unmatched fuel efficiency
 
New Delhi, September 23, 2010: Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), the country’s largest exporter and the second largest car manufacturer, today introduced Next Gen i10 – the all new version of its premium compact i10. Sporting an innovative design look and an array of contemporary features, the Next Gen i10 is sure to win many hearts and replicate the phenomenal success of the existing Hyundai i10.

  Significantly, this fresh and exciting Next Gen i10 gives Indian consumers the choice of two petrol engines – 1.1 iRDE2 and 1.2 Kappa2 VTVT. While the 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine delivers a maximum power of 69PS@5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.1 Kgm@4500 rpm, the1.2 litre Kappa2 VTVT engine delivers a maximum power of 80 PS@6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.4 Kgm@4000 rpm. Both the engines are BS IV compliant and designed to deliver improved engine efficiency, optimized fuel consumption, low emission and class leading performance.

  With a more efficient engine, the new 1.1 iRDE2 Next Gen i10 has ARAI certified mileage of 19.81 km per litre of petrol while the 1.2 Kappa2 VTVT boasts of a mileage of 20.36 km per litre making i10 the most fuel efficient petrol car in compact segment and above.

  The new Next Gen i10 pioneers a host of new design elements. On the exterior front, the new Next Gen i10 sports an aggressive and modern all-new front-end design. Its centerpiece is a new chrome radiator grill which features contemporary chrome detailing. It also boasts of a bracing set of 3D wraparound headlamps with multi-reflector chrome surround fog lamps. The bumpers have also been redesigned with a new front grille to lend a more aggressive look.

Not varying from its sporty and sleek look, the Next Gen i10 features a micro roof antenna, body colour door handle and the side indicator lights incorporated on the outside rear view mirror. The rear of Next Gen i10 boasts of sleek and elongated tail lamps, bold rear bumper with body coloured inserts as well as rear bumper reflectors and trendy full wheel cover. Together, these elements are where the Next Gen i10’s robustness and contemporary appeal unite so effectively
.
 
 The interiors of the Next Gen i10 have been vastly improved and stylized to give customers a touch of sportiness and exclusivity in a new and exciting way.

  The new two-tone beige and light brown colour defines class and luxury of the vehicle. To impart a more aesthetic appeal, the fresh and airy interiors have been accentuated with chrome and silver accents at multiple points. Other interesting design features like metal finish centre console, new instrument cluster, blue interior illumination etc. have been added to offer a more luxurious and ergonomic experience.

  Apart from this, the Next Gen i10 brings in a host of highly innovative design features like first- in-segment gear shift indicator display (M/T only), digital fuel indicator, Bluetooth, steering mounted audio & bluetooth controls and multiple power outlets.  

  Hyundai has always led the way when it comes to ensuring safety and security. The Next Gen i10 is packed with an array of active and passive safety features to enable passenger safety. Apart from ABS (Antilock Braking System) and front disc brakes, the car is equipped with reverse parking sensor - a first-in-segment feature to ensure enhanced safety for its occupant.

  In addition, the designers of Next Gen i10 have added excitement by packing in class-leading features like foldable key, heated outside rear view mirrors, height adjustable driver seat, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, deluxe floor console with power outlet, keyless entry with burglar alarm and engine immobilizer to ensure protection from theft.

  The new Next Gen i10 will be available in an array of 8 exciting colours (including 5 new colours) to choose from.
