Smart Farm
With two smart farms located within our facility, we aim to showcase and demonstrate that robotics, technology and automation can enable even a country like Singapore to ramp up agricultural activities.
The benefits of establishing a higher level of local food production will enable us to ensure better food security and lower reliance on imports. Additionally, this also allows us to reduce overall carbon footprint from shipping activities.
Our vertical smart farms allow visitors to witness how we could possibly increase local food production through the use of highly advanced technology and machinery.
Experience it now with our Discovery Tour right here at HMGICS.

Smart Farm I: From seed to harvest
Located at the main lobby of the experience center, the smart farm here allows for four different types of greens to be grown. Starting from the process of seeding, all the way to harvest, you will be able to observe the different growth stages of the plants. What's more, you can plant your own seed using the seeding kiosks to operate the robot arm to plant the seed on your behalf.
Smart Farm II: Diverse and exotic
Discover commonly grown greens as well as more exotic plants at the smart farm located on the third floor. A total of eleven different greens are produced here and they will be supplied to various destinations such as the tasting lounge where you will be able to sample some of the freshly harvested greens, as well as at our restaurant Na Oh.
A journey of learning
Through the exploration of the both smart farms at HMGICS, we want to allow visitors to understand that modern-day farming methods utilizing technology can be highly effective in a land-scarce country like Singapore. Besides that, we allow visitors to pick and harvest a choice of the preferred greens and take it home. This will answer all doubts and questions about the difference in taste between traditionally-farmed soil-based methods, or hydrophonics-based methods.
