Singapore, 4 June 2025 - Since opening its doors in June 2024, Na Oh, the contemporary Korean restaurant within the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), has brought a new dimension of seasonal Korean dining to the city.

A collaboration between HMGICS and acclaimed chef Corey Lee, Na Oh is well loved for its thoughtful celebration of Korean heritage through its menu, design, and use of artisanal tableware, while also embracing futuristic concepts such as robotics-driven farming and contemporary presentation. The restaurant has consistently drawn full bookings, received critical acclaim, and was recently nominated as The Straits Times’ Best New Restaurant of 2024.

To mark its first anniversary, Na Oh will host a private two-day event on 4 and 5 June 2025, for select media and guests. At the heart of the celebration is a rare culinary experience featuring Jeju Hanwoo beef, one of Korea’s most coveted native delicacies—and one that has never been commercially available in Singapore.

Hanwoo beef cannot currently be sold or served in Singapore, as most of Korea is not recognized as free from foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), which restricts beef exports to Singapore and many other developed countries, although Jeju Island was recently recognized as FMD-free.

Korean steakhouses and grills in the country typically rely on Japanese Wagyu or American beef as substitutes. And while the idea of bringing Hanwoo to Singapore has long intrigued local restaurateurs, it has remained elusive. For this occasion, Na Oh has secured a one-time special import exception for Jeju Hanwoo beef, exclusively for this event, offering a rare and unprecedented dining experience in Singapore.

Thoughtfully designed to showcase the purity and character of Hanwoo beef, the menu also celebrates Na Oh’s signature approach: seasonal ingredients, traditional fermentation, and produce grown on-site at HMGICS' Smart Farm.

The meal opens with Homemade Tofu with Aged Soy Sauce, paired with assorted jeon—a quiet introduction that balances simplicity and umami. It is followed by Hanwoo Beef Tenderloin with Oyster, brightened by Summer Squash and Nabak Kimchi, a light and savory interlude.

The first of the main courses features Hanwoo Striploin Yukhwe, elegantly composed of Deodeok, Pear, Rock Seaweed Bugak, and house-fermented Gochujang, creating a dish that is both bold and precise. This is followed by Charcoal-grilled Hanwoo Rib Cap and Marinated Galbi, served with Smart Farm Leaves, Ssamjang, and Chamnamul Muchim, grounding the menu in fire, fermentation, and foliage.

The final savory course brings comforting depth: Hanwoo Gomtang, a slow-simmered broth made with Brisket, Short Rib, Oxtail, and Tendon, served alongside Golden Queen’s rice, Abalone Jang, and Chonggak Kimchi, offering a celebration of balance and tradition.

To conclude, guests are served a refreshing Summer Peach Bingsu, delivering textural contrast and delicate sweetness to round off the experience.

The menu is accompanied by a curated selection of beverages that highlight Korean artisanry: makgeoli, chungju, and soju, alongside a selection of hot and iced teas, including purple sunchoke and maesil (Korean green plum).

As with all of Na Oh’s offerings, this special event reflects Hyundai’s human-centric approach: one that brings together heritage, innovation, and craftsmanship across disciplines, from culinary to mobility, within HMGICS.

Na Oh remains committed to showcasing the possibilities of Korean cuisine through thoughtful, seasonal expression. As it enters its second year, the restaurant continues to explore the intersection of culture, innovation and sustainability—drawing from the ground and reaching towards the future.
