Growing The Future Together: M.Y World Preschool and Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore Announce 2026 Smart Food Lab Learning Journeys For Preschoolers

20 Jan, 2026 02:17 PM

  • Introducing close to 900 preschoolers to the future of food through technology-driven, sensory learning

M.Y World Preschool (M.Y World)  and Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) are pleased to jointly announce an exciting collaboration that will bring immersive, innovation-driven learning experiences to preschoolers in 2026. As part of this partnership, 860 Kindergarten 2 children from M.Y World will participate in 43 Smart Food Lab workshop sessions at HMGICS throughout the year.

This collaboration marks a first for HMGICS and will provide children with the opportunities to explore high-tech Smart Farm, offering them a unique hands-on learning experience. The learning journey is aimed at building curiosity among children by exposing them to a place where technology and nature meet to offer a look into how the future of food is grown.

In the Smart Food Lab, children will become scientists for a day, engaging in hands-on and sensory experiments involving seeing, touching, tasting and more. Powered by fresh greens harvested directly from the HMGICS Smart Farm, the workshop provides a fun and interactive platform for children to explore science, sustainability, and future food systems in a meaningful and memorable way.

This experience also fosters early discussions on food security, sustainable urban agriculture and innovative solutions for highly populated cities like Singapore. By linking real-world technology to classroom learning, the initiative supports M.Y World's commitment to equipping children with skills for a rapidly changing world.

The 2026 program marks an important milestone in the deepening collaboration between M.Y World and HMGICS towards future initiatives on enriching children's learning while increasing their exposure to emergent technologies.

"M.Y World is delighted to partner with HMGICS in this year-long collaboration to inspire our young learners. The Smart Food Lab brings sustainability lessons beyond the classroom and into real-world settings, giving our children the opportunity to see and experience how technology and innovation can shape a brighter, greener future," said Dr John Fong, Chief Education Officer, M.Y World Preschool. "These immersive sessions show our children that caring for the environment is not just a classroom concept, but a meaningful practice. They learn that their actions are capable of bringing about tangible change, which they can carry into their daily lives. At the same time, this programme nurtures their curiosity, compassion and sense of responsibility as confident global citizens of tomorrow."

"At HMGICS, we believe that curiosity is the spark that drives innovation. We are excited to welcome M.Y World’s young learners to experience the Smart Food Lab, where they can see firsthand how advanced technology transforms the way we grow food. We hope this programme fosters an early interest in technology, science, sustainability, and creative thinking,” said Jeong Jaewook, Head of Business Planning Group, HMGICS.

In addition to school-based learning journeys, the Smart Food Lab is also open for public bookings on weekends, offering families and the wider community the opportunity to participate in the experience.

Fees collected from the Smart Food Lab programmes, including both school-based learning journeys and public weekend sessions, will be contributed to the President’s Challenge Fund.
