Hyundai Motor Receives International Recognition for Its Unique and Creative Brand Designs

- Hyundai Motorstudio wins three iF Design Award 2015 titles
- Brand collections recognized for unique style, including ‘Gold’ winner award
- Hyundai New Generation i20 also rewarded by iF

Feb. 27, 2015 - Hyundai Motor Company, the fastest growing automaker by brand value, has received further international recognition for its design vision from the prestigious iF Design Awards jury. The Hyundai Motorstudio won three iF Design Award 2015 titles, across ‘Product’ and ‘Communication’ disciplines for its brand collections, along with one gaining special recognition as the ‘Gold’ winner, a first for the Hyundai brand.

The Hyundai Motorstudio itself won an iF Design Award 2015 in the ‘Communication’ category – recognition for the brand’s creative vision. The Hyundai Motorstudio ‘Collection’, which includes simple yet unique design of everyday items such as pencil cap sharpeners, tumblers, cups and stools, won a second award in the ‘Product’ category with the Hyundai Motorstudio collection’s ‘Spoon Set’ claiming the third award and the prestigious ‘Gold’ winner title.

The jury awarded the sought-after prizes to the Hyundai Motorstudio collections following a rigorous judging process, involving almost 5,000 entries from 53 countries.

Won-Hong Cho, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor, commented: “We constantly aim to provide exceptional brand experiences to our customers, and the Hyundai Motorstudio in Seoul and Moscow allow us to convey Hyundai’s brand values in unconventional and innovative ways. Such unprecedented recognition from the iF International Forum, an internationally respected design institute, highlights the progress we’re making in engaging with customers through our new brand activities.”

Hyundai Motor established its first Hyundai Motorstudio in the Gangnam district of Seoul in 2014, with a second studio opening in Moscow last month. The aim of the brand space is to create a new type of brand experience for Hyundai customers, with both studios featuring newly-curated retail and cultural experiences, as well as exhibits that engage visitors and communicate the company’s future brand direction and aspirations.

Hyundai Motor also celebrated a design accolade at the special awards ceremony on Feb. 27 in Munich, after the New Generation i20 picked up an iF Design Award 2015 in the ‘Product’ discipline, an achievement announced previously by the company. This was the second consecutive year that the company had been recognized for its vehicle design, after the Hyundai Genesis won the same award in 2014.

For more than 60 years, the iF Design Awards have been recognized across the world as a symbol of design excellence. Organized by iF International Forum Design, the awards identify outstanding design across various disciplines and categories.
