SINGAPORE. 3 August 2024 - Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) in the Jurong Innovation District today pledged to leverage its unique and advanced mobility innovations as part of the company’s inaugural corporate social responsibility (CSR) program through a partnership with the President’s Challenge. At an event graced by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, HMGICS and community partners came together to announce a series of initiatives aimed at motivating the next generation around education and the future of work and enriching local society. Aligned with Hyundai Motor Group’s goal towards a sustainable future and the empowerment of future generations to dream big and embrace new challenges, HMGICS is fostering a long-term impact for the people and communities around us.
Established just under a year ago, propelled by Singapore’s open government policies, forward-thinking economic environment, and a strong and rich pool of talents, HMGICS, as the smart urban mobility hub, has been an active participant in Singapore’s innovation efforts for the future of mobility, fulfilling its vision of creating a more sustainable ecosystem in collaboration with youths and communities.
In a step closer to realizing this vision, HMGICS will leverage its expertise and assets and form initiatives and partnerships with key members of Singapore’s social fabric. Educational institutions, arts and design establishments, and community organizations will feature in initiatives that span student education across various learning stages, donations of electric vehicles, food donations and monetary donations, all designed to make an impact within the local community.
“The spirit of progress onwards for a better future is engraved in Hyundai Motor's DNA. We believe in engaging in efforts and partnerships that support communities in Singapore, and this underscores all our work in developing sustainable future mobility innovations. HMGICS has achieved significant milestones in collaboration with Singapore since its inception. To continue this path, we are dedicated to helping local youth and communities grow together through our CSR initiatives, empowering and uplifting them to create a brighter future for all. This is our contribution to supporting Singapore’s society, giving back to communities and contributing to local talent and the economy,” said Dr Hyun Sung Park, CEO of HMGICS.
“Our partnership with HMGICS has evolved into a multi-year collaboration, extending beyond financial contributions to include sharing of their corporate resource and technological expertise. These are invaluable contributions leveraging their state-of-the-art research and development that will benefit our youths from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with disabilities, through learning journeys and work experiences”, said Mr Jack Lim, Group Director, Philanthropy Group, National Council of Social Service (NCSS).
