45 – electric concept car.
Unveiled to an overfill crowd at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Hyundai’s latest concept model is a look at the future of electric mobility. Simply named 45, this new electric design concept pays homage to one of the most iconic vehicles in Hyundai’s history. The progressive 45 puts a twist on a 45-year-old icon, the Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept, to introduce an entirely new in-car experience for the self-driving vehicles of tomorrow. 45 foreshadows a new era of Hyundai’s automotive design focused on electrification, autonomous technologies and intelligent design.
The all-new i30 N Project C.
Hyundai launched the i30 N Project C limited edition at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, a lighter, lower and more extreme version of the critically acclaimed i30 N. The Project C is 50 kg lighter and sits 6 mm closer to the road for even more responsive handling.
The i30 N Project C’s unique design elements include clearly visible carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) body parts lacquered smooth to show the perfect carbon fibre weave. The front splitter, rear diffuser, bonnet and N-branded side sills are all made from CFRP, making the special edition model not just lighter but also tighter to the tarmac at speed while being stunning to look at.
Veloster N
The Veloster N ETCR, Hyundai’s first-ever electric race car was revealed to the world at the media day of the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Based on the road-going Veloster N model, the new car is designed specifically for the new Electric Touring Car Racing Championship (ETCR), which will make its debut in 2020. The Veloster N ETCR heralds an exciting new era for Hyundai Motorsport, which will see electric racing become one of the pillars of the company.
The vehicle capitalises on Hyundai Motorsport’s expertise in touring car racing and follows the success of the competitive i30 N TCR and Veloster N TCR packages. Designed and built at the company’s Alzenau headquarters in Germany, the Veloster N ETCR is fully electric, rear-wheel-drive with a mid-mounted motor and a double-wishbone rear suspension – two firsts for a Hyundai Motorsport project - in line with ETCR regulations.
